The DARI-49 satellite is a Kjanuan-owned satellite launched by the Commonwealth Space Force (CSF) in 1978. The satellite was hacked by Kjanuan operatives in 1993 and the Kjanuan Bureau of Sub-Corporeal Defense (BSCD) took full control of the satellite as part of the April 1st Armistice in 1995. The satellite underwent extensive repairs in 2003 to replace damaged parts and give new functionality to DARI-49.[1]
DARI-49 was designed to block the sole gateway to the Graveyard of Chains.[2] Instead of the standard equipment of the DARI weather satellite program, DARI-49 was outfitted with an internal storage cavity and internal cameras. Kjanuan renovations expanded the internal cavity and added thermal sensing data to the interior.[1] A total of 12 sub-corporeal life forms reside in DARI-49, and talks to expand the internal cavity further are underway at the BSCD.[3]
